The Ground Up Show: This Podcast Changed My Life

Blog #20

T.K. Coleman, the Co-Founder & Education Director of Praxis, was a guest on the Ground Up Show podcast to discuss alternatives to college and the importance of following your passion.  As a participant in the Praxis Bootcamp, I downloaded the podcast after I saw it was promoted by the Praxis LinkedIn account. After listening to the podcast, Dreams Don’t Come True, Decisions Do, Coleman impressed me with how important it is to follow your passion and how you don’t need college to achieve it.  He argues that high schools students should not feel pressured to go to college and their needs to be more people advocating for other alternatives to college.  Coleman also gives valuable insight about preparing for the worst part of your day and about sharing your goals with the world.

This podcast not only helps to affirm my decision to join Praxis and follow my passion to become a creative designer, but it also motivated me to think about the things that make me tick. What are you passionate about?  What would make you motivated to get out of bed in the morning? Design, fashion, sports, helping others, creating new and exciting content makes me tick. As a self-taught designer, how do you pursue and find success in a creative career?

The key to pursuing anything is to stop asking questions.  Get out of your own head and listen to how other people found success.  Their insights will give you peace of mind. Go listen to the Ground Up Show.

The Ground Up Show is a podcast the inspires young creatives to make meaningful content and pursue their passions.  Matt D’Avella, known for directing the Netflix documentary Minimalism, talks with creatives such as designers, comedians, athletes, filmmakers, and minimalists alike about their creative process and how to make an impact.
