Motor: Emotion and Logic

BLOG #6

Human beings are made up of gears, ball bearings, and spark plugs.  A MOTOR is what drives us.

It just takes a special individual to flip the switch, to crank it into overdrive.

Turn it on and keep your tank full. That is something that takes time to learn, and not everyone can.  It’s a virtuous skill, to tap into your inner motivation, your motor. It takes discipline. It is the one element that allows you to go the extra mile.

It takes two opposing energies to bring it to life and make it your everyday reality. To reach your maximum potential you need both emotion and logic.

Emotion alone has its limits.

Logic alone has its limits.

Together they can push you beyond.

When one of them fails, you have to rely on the other.

When it doesn’t make any logical sense to continue, tap into your emotion.  Be angry, be frustrated, be afraid of what stands in your way. Use that emotion to run right through it.

When your emotion starts to consume your every move and it feels like you are falling off the rails, pause for a moment.  Override that emotion with reason.  Evaluate, reflect, analyze, research to get back on track.

Fight destructive emotion with willpower and logic.  Fight the boundaries of reason with emotional discourse and creative guts.  Be bold. Be tenacious.

Balance these opposing forces. Use them as tools to drive your every move.  That’s your motor. All the parts have to work off one another to run smoothly and efficiently.

Master your emotion and logic and nothing can stop you!
